American Cruise Lines is seeking a Tour and Shore Excursions Planner to work in our Guilford, CT office. The ideal candidate will have experience planning, developing, and coordinating tours and shore excursion programs. Cruise ship experience is welcomed but not required. This position will work in the Guest Programs department based in Guilford, CT.


Candidates should be familiar with tour operations and planning, geography of the United States, and have a passion for the travel industry. In this fast-paced role you will collaborate with others in order to create a memorable onboard and on-shore experience for our guests. 


  • Plan, reserve, confirm and oversee quality control of shore excursions, motor coaches, guides, and shoreside special events
  • Create shore excursions budget and track revenue and expenses
  • Research and recommend new excursions, pre- and post-cruise packages, and activities.
  • Maintain positive supplier relations through effective communication, negotiation, and relationship building
  • Maintain thorough awareness and competitive analysis of company competitors and their product offerings
  • Perform significant administrative duties as required


  • Bachelors’ Degree (Travel, Tourism & Hospitality preferred)
  • Ideal candidate will have tour/excursion planning and management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be very proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be positive, enthusiastic, outgoing and able to work at an exceptionally fast pace
  • Ability to travel
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
