Overview

American Cruise Lines is searching for solo and duo Resident Entertainers to work and perform aboard their fleet of ships cruising the rivers of the United States.  The Resident Entertainer role is a comprehensive and multi-faceted position that anchors the entertainment and onboard activity program on every cruise.  An outgoing, welcoming personality, vibrant stage presence, elegance, creativity, flexibility, team spirit and extraordinarily strong work ethic are essential attributes to success in this important onboard role.

Responsibilities

Musical Requirements:

  • Extensive  song list for a broad demographic that is suitable for both listening and dancing
  • Multiple themed sets/shows (50s, 60s, 70s, Motown Classics, British Invasion, Country, etc.)
  • Ability to play cocktail piano music each evening for 1.5 hours on a seven-day cycle with minimal repetition
  • Ability to take a wide variety of requests
  • Host and accompany “Open Mic” and sing-a-long events


Activity Requirements:

  • Host various daily activities and events (trivia, game shows, tech talks, etc.)
  • Act as MC to introduce local (shore-side) entertainment
  • Ability to host basic dance classes and basic fitness classes a plus


This is a very unique position and compensation is commensurate. Contract lengths vary. Previous ship/resort experience a plus.
