    The Director of Enrichment and Tour Programing is a shore side senior leadership position and is responsible for supervising the Enrichment and Tour Operations Department.  The Director will develop and plan enrichment programing to provide a comprehensive experience to the guests onboard the cruise ships highlighting the history, geography, flora, fauna, culture, etc. of the unique ports and destinations visited by American Cruise Lines. 

    The Director is responsible for procurement, negotiation, and, quality while maintaining historical and cultural significant shore excursions in each port that will meet the budget requirements and ensure guest satisfaction.  The Director is responsible for planning and developing the shipboard programing to include lectures, entertainment, activities, and other enrichment programs.

    The Director of Enrichment and Tour Programing reports to the Vice President of Hotel Operations.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervises employees in Tour Operations department
    • Supports and oversees the day to day operations
    • Ensures all tours, activities, programs, etc. are booked, contracted, and delivered
    • Develops and plans enrichment programing to provide an educational and entertaining experience
    • Long range planning and forecasting
    • Oversees and plans pre and post cruise packages and hotel reservations
    • Oversees and plans pre and post cruise transfers
    • Customizes programs for charter groups
    • Ensures high quality of shore excursions and onboard enrichment programs including educational and entertainment programs
    • Analyzes the performance of all shore excursions and onboard programs for quality, guest satisfaction, and cost
    • Oversees shipboard guest speakers, entertainers, and other enrichment speakers
    • Maintains budget and ensures purchases do not exceed budget
    • Coordinates with Marketing Department to showcase enrichment programs on websites and printed materials
    • Provides descriptions, times, and information to Sales Department
    • Coordinates with the Hotel Directors and Tour Operations to oversee the shipboard cruise directors to ensure that all programing is being executed properly onboard
    • Reads comment cards identifies areas for improvement, and implements strategies for immediate action

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, Travel and Tourism
    • Minimum 10 years relevant management experience
    • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Available to travel
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
